  • Is status persuasive in deliberation online? In a paper accepted to Management Science, we designed a quasi-experiment to quantify the causal impact of status with unstructured text as a control.

  • Does hiding status eliminate persuasive inequitability? In a paper recently accepted to Findings of the ACL: EMNLP 2022, we deployed a randomized field experiment on ChangeMyView to answer this question.

  • Can we uncover biases hidden in unstructured text? In a paper published in AAAI 2021, we propose an approach for this problem and apply it to study biases in the language of academic peer review.

  • How does one make causal inferences with unstructured text data? We survey this problem in a paper recently accepted to the Transactions of the Association for Computational Linguistics.
